FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

DEFINITIONS

What is...

MultiFurry
A furry that possesses extra limbs, fingers, heads, tails, etc... or the opposite (which is sometimes called MonoFurry).
Nali
Four-armed, two chested. Comes from Epic Megagame's Unreal.
'Taur
As in Centaur, but when added to a species name, means a morphic top body with a non-morphic bottom body, similar in configuation to that of a centaur
Hex'taur
Like normal taurs, but with an extra bottom body where the tail should be. See Tazel Sixpaws.
Were'taur
Instead of a non-morphic bottom body, having a morphic bottom body. The top's torso is connected at the neck of the bottom body.
furry
Unfortunately, there's not one good short answer. Instead, check out Mongoose.Net. It's a good portal for all furry.
Subnectivity
SPUTUM's main mode of communication. In the comic strip, it refers to a private IP network all trained SputWolfSkunks (including RedWolf) have (there are a group of four Sputs who did not receive training due to their parents -- unfortunately, they are quite insane by any standard and are cared for by the Sputs).

QUESTIONS ABOUT WOLFSKUNKS/DRYGERS

Why do you keep mispelling "her" or "she"?

WolfSkunks are true ideal hermaphrodites -- basically both male and female. "Hir" and "shi" are what I use for this third gender. Drygers have three genders (male, female, and herm) due to an even stranger anatomy different of anything humanoid or Chakat/Canmephian.

What's with those bust sizes? A 'ZZZZ'? Geesh, how large is that?

Some folks have asked "How do I get those bust cup sizes correct?" when I play my WolfSkunk character online. Here's the answer. It's modified from the formula S.Court(aka pixelust) uses.

Lets take "B" to be the a standard bust measurement in inches.
Lets also make "C" the cup size's letter designation(1=A all the way to 26=Z),
while "M" is how many times that letter appears.
If B is less than 4 inches:
   C is equal to B, and M equals 1
Else if B is greater than 3 but less than 50:
Divide B into 2, add 2 to the result, and call that C.
   If B is even, M equals 1. If B is odd, M equals 2.
Otherwize, B's greater than 49:
Subtract 50 from B, and divide the result by 26. Do this using long
division, you want two whole numbers (the whole number result and the remainder)
Take the whole number result of the division, add 3, and call it M.
Take the remainder, add 1, and call that C.

Thus, if your bust measurement is 80 inches (remember, you're roughly double size if you're a WolfSkunk or Dryger), you'll be a EEEE cup. I think RedWolf's an FFF most of the time.

What's with the extra ring finger?

Added grip proved to be an advantage. Plus, it's kinda my trademark. :)

ABOUT THE STRIP, THE SITE,
AND OPEN SOURCED CARTOONING

What's with those fonts that keep changing? BTW, what fonts do you use?

Origionally I was using Comic that came from Microsoft, but now I'm using the even better fonts from BlamBot. The main lettering is Enchilada, while the logo is Flat Earth Scribe. I also use a few others: Babylon Industrial, Yikes!, and maybe Crille, but I'm tempted to try out 12 Ton GoldFish. It took a while to find out which font actually worked.

Are you eazily cacheable?

Yes! All the site's images reside on stalag99.keenspace.com/images. If you use my WolfSkunk Proxy program, add it to the @cache array. They shouldn't change often.

Sex?

Male.

No, I mean will there be any sex in the strip?

Other than some nudity tastefully rendered (sorry, no nipples nor male genitalia), the closest you'll get is before and after shots. Well, I do have a gratuous bathroom shower kissing scene...

It's a rather adult strip.

What software do you use? What's you're setup?

Mostly open source software, availible at Freshmeat. Here's the organization:

Slackware Linux 8+ -- Linux Kernel 2.4.18
XFree86 4.2x
Mozilla, Gimp, SANE, VMware
under VMware:
Windows 2000, DreamWeaver 3.x

All of this is run on an AMD Athlon XP equipped PC, with about 256 megs of ram (Gimp and VMWare needs it), and a 20 gig HD that hasn't been filled up yet (even though I keep trying).

I read your essays on open sourced cartooning, and want to hire you for a speaking engagement!

All the info you need is here.

Can I save your work/redistribute your strip/reprint your strip?

Here's my policy:

OFFICAL STALAG '99 REDISTRIBUTION POLICY

  • SAVING FOR PERSONAL ARCHIVE: You may save copies of the strip for your personal storage, as long as it's not every strip. I think there's too much variance in the strips to belive anyone would want to save the whole line just for their personal perusement. The only exceptions are for those suffering from a Stalag '99 induced User Friendly Productivity Virus, or if it is being done on a temporary basis and will be removed (like a web browser).
  • REDISTRIBUTING THE STRIP or MIRRORING THE WEB PAGE: *DON'T* STALAG '99 IS A KEENSPACE STRIP. The ad hits are very nessisary, as it helps the server and later, helps me. I don't want to see KeenSpace shut down. Instead, point them to me!
  • REPRINTING STALAG '99: You need permission, which will be given on a case-by-case basis. For that, you need to contact me. Until you do, and know for sure, you do not have any permission. I will reserve the right to remove such permission.

How about fan art?

What are you waiting for? Do it and send it to me!

Hey! I want to donate to the cause, but you don't have an Amazon Tipjar! What gives?

Amazon spams. I have received within the past few years an Amazon.com Music spam, which was promptly complained to their upstream. I haven't heard from Amazon since, but they're still out there, and folks still get junk from them. I'm not going to honor them, since they've proven their intent. When I get a "You were on our list, but just in case, let us know if you still want us to send you this ads" e-mail from them, and they honor it, I'll be more than happy to put up a Tipjar.

In the meanwhile, use the Paypal Donate button, or send me an e-mail on how to do it over Yahoo! Paydirect.

Hey! I want to toss you an e-mail to say how groovy your strip is!

Groovy. See below.

Hey! You suck!

How so?

WHAT?

What specifically sucks?

Uhhhh...

I thought so. You know, I look for intelegent e-mails from folks. I've already had someone who fully demonstrated that they didn't know furry. If you match the unintelegent profile, and send a full-fledge flame, it will be peiced apart like SPUTUM mocking a spammer's verbal spewage. BUT, if you send a "Hey, good work!", I'll forgive you. ;)

I want to send you some unsolicitated commercial e-mail!!!

STOP RIGHT THERE AND READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO ANY FARTHER TO LOOSE YOUR PROFITABILTY AND REPUTATION.

Besides, just how many accounts have you gotten removed for AUP/TOS violations?

Also, repeated spamming is covered by Washington State, California, and Virginia state laws; Maryland and Arizona state anti-email-harrassment laws may also apply. Yes, folks, spamming is getting illegal!

What *is* your e-mail address?

You'll have to ask for it...

Got a PGP key?

Nope, PGP's not quite secure (nor free) anymore. I use the GNU Privacy Guard. My key is on a seperate page and in the key servers..
